There are homes that simply stand in place, and then there are homes that quietly carry stories forward. Lexington Elms is the latter.

Lexington Elms exterior front

Built in 1799, this Federal-style home has been part of Kennebunk’s fabric for more than two centuries. Over the years, it has lived many lives, including a chapter of stewardship connected to Tom’s of Maine, whose care helped preserve its character and integrity.

When we first stepped inside, we felt it immediately. Not just the history, but the warmth. The kind that can’t be staged or replicated. It comes from worn floors, sunlit windows, and the sense that this house has welcomed people for generations.

We knew right away we didn’t want to change what made it special. Instead, our goal is simple: to care for Lexington Elms in a way that honors its past while gently preparing it for the next chapter.

In the coming months, we’ll be thoughtfully restoring spaces, refining details, and creating something that feels both timeless and deeply comfortable. A place where history is present, but never overwhelming. Where guests feel not like visitors, but like they belong.

We’re so glad you found us at the beginning of this journey.
